Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and has improved resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Compared to copper, Brass has low electrical conductivity and is frequently used in sieving diversified pellets, powder, porcelain clay and glass, chinaware printing, filtering liquid and gas. The chemical composition of brass is 60-70% copper plus 30-40% zinc. Brass is superior to copper wire mesh in abrasion resistance and tensile strength, but electrical conductivity of brass wire is considerably lower than that for copper wire. Brass mesh can be bent by hand and effortlessly cut with tin snips and a common scissor.
