Normally, Stainless Steel Demister Pads are mounted in a way so that vapour flow is upward, when vapours flow entrained liquid droplets pass through a Stainless Steel Demister Pad, the vapour passes smoothly whereas liquid droplets cannot make the necessary sharp turns and are thrown into contact with the wire surfaces and briefly held there, due to their greater inertia. As additional droplets enter the pad and collect on the wires, they grow in size, run down the wire to the bottom surface of the mesh separator and fall from the unit.
